Xi’an 3-Day Itinerary Self-Guided Tour

Xi’an is a city with a long history and cultural heritage. It has beautiful scenery and many popular places to check in, which is worth visiting. There is a feeling of returning to the prosperous Tang Dynasty. So, what are the fun places to visit in Xi’an in three days? Here is a specific travel guide.

DAY1:

1. Shaanxi Provincial Museum:

Tickets: All tickets to Shaanxi Provincial Museum are now booked online. You need to follow the WeChat public account “Shaanxi History Museum Ticket System.” The number of free tickets is limited and needs to be booked in advance. There are also paid tickets, one priced at 30 yuan and one at 300 yuan. Student ID cards have discounts.

2. Big Wild Goose Pagoda:

Tickets: Student tickets are 20 yuan, and tickets are required to climb the pagoda. The discount ticket is 12.5 yuan.

It takes about 1-1.5 hours to visit the Ci’en Temple and climb the pagoda. After visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, locals said that there is no need to visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, because they have the same structure and the Small Wild Goose Pagoda is smaller.

3. Bell and Drum Towers:

The Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and Muslim Street are located next to each other, making it very convenient to check in. To climb the Bell Tower, you need to go through the underground passage.

Tickets: 30 yuan

4. Muslim Street:

It seems that every city has a Muslim Street, such as the Ancient Culture Street in Tianjin, which is mainly used to attract tourists. Here, I strongly recommend that you do not buy sesame sauce cold noodles for 10 yuan per serving. It is super unappetizing!!! That taste in your mouth, I really don’t know what you ate, it’s hard to bear. Other things can be bought and tasted. I also tried some things, but I just couldn’t get what was delicious, and it was expensive.

DAY2

1. Huaqing Pool:

Transportation: Huaqing Pool and Terracotta Army are not in the city center, you need to take Tour Bus 5 (306), 7 yuan to Huaqing Pool and 8 yuan to Terracotta Army. Tour Bus 5 is a white car. Remember, it’s white! Don’t take the wrong fake car! Generally, you go to Huaqing Pool first, then to Terracotta Army. This route will be more convenient.

Tickets: 120 yuan

Highlights: At Huaqing Pool, you can see some bathing pools, the Xi’an Incident Memorial Hall, and you can also climb Mount Lishan. Compared to Mount Huashan, Mount Lishan is a real “little brother,” it’s super easy to climb. It takes about 1.5 hours to climb to the top, which is a beacon tower. You can also take the cable car up and down Mount Lishan, but it is recommended to climb to the beacon tower and then share a car with other tourists down the mountain road. The reputation of China’s most beautiful mountain road is not in vain. It’s super beautiful!

2. Xi’an City Wall: The city wall closes very late at night. It’s a good place for walking or jogging. But since the city wall is quite long, it is recommended to rent a bicycle on it, which is more convenient. In my opinion, the scenery at night is better than during the day~

Tickets: 54 yuan for adults, 27 yuan for students

DAY3

Mount Huashan

Transportation: Take the G1900 high-speed train from Xi’an North to Huashan North in the morning. Depart at 7:30 and arrive around 8 o’clock. Then take the free Huayin No. 1 bus directly to the foot of Mount Huashan. Take the G1843 high-speed train from Huashan North to Xi’an North at night, departing at 8:18 pm and arriving around 9 pm. About 10 hours is definitely enough to climb Mount Huashan.

Tickets: 160 yuan for adults, 80 yuan for students
