1、Yuan Xiao-cen Art Garden (free)
Yuan Xiao-cen is a renowned Chinese sculptor and painter, Honorary Dean of the Yunnan Academy of Painting, and a member of the Second and Third Councils of the China Artists Association and Chairman of the Yunnan Branch. As the saying goes, “shrimp” reminds us of Qi Baishi, “horse” reminds us of Xu Beihong, and when it comes to “peacocks” and “cranes”, it inevitably brings to mind Yuan Xiao-cen. The art garden is dotted with many sculptures by Yuan Xiao-cen throughout his life, such as the busts of Aristotle and Potf. The main and auxiliary exhibition halls cover a total area of about 1,400 square meters, with a permanent exhibition of over 100 works (groups) by Mr. Yuan, research and display of works by Yunnan modern and contemporary artists represented by Mr. Yuan, holding exhibitions of contemporary Chinese art related to traditional Chinese art, actively introducing and organizing international high-quality contemporary art exchanges.
On weekends, you can bring a book and read in the Yuan Xiao-cen Art Garden. When you are free, just stare at the white clouds in the sky and let time pass slowly. Until the sun sets in the west, you suddenly wake up. Slowly savor this moment of peace and quiet, hard-earned in the bustling city.
2、Dianchi Dam (free)
Dianchi Dam faces Dianchi Lake and overlooks West Mountain. In spring, you can see the gentle ripples of the lake; in summer, you can feel the cool breeze; in autumn, you can enjoy a boat trip; in winter, you can watch the seagulls playing in the waves. On the Dianchi Dam in Kunming, you can stroll along the embankment, lean against the railing to gaze into the distance, watch the mountains and waters, enjoy nature, and find the beautiful scenery right here.

This is a naturally formed long dike, a wedge-shaped long dike stretching from east to west in Dianchi Lake. Haigeng Park was built on the basis of this dike, providing a beautiful place for people to relax and vacation. The park has a dock (where you can take a boat or speedboat), an amusement park, a sea-watching corridor, a wishing bridge, a food market, self-service barbecue, and so on.

Yunnan Ethnic Village is the second batch of provincial-level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption clusters, bringing together the diverse cultures of 25 ethnic minorities in Yunnan. It has built and restored 25 village settlements of Yunnan ethnic minorities according to a 1:1 scale.
Yunnan Ethnic Village has “festivals every month and joy every day”. It has become a national and even internationally renowned and well-regarded ethnic cultural theme park.
5、Yunnan Ethnic Museum (free)
Yunnan Ethnic Museum is located next to the Yunnan Ethnic Village in Haigeng, Kunming. The museum has 16 exhibition halls, covering an exhibition area of 6,000 square meters. It also has a well-equipped lecture hall, meeting rooms, reception rooms, etc. It is the largest ethnic museum in China.
The museum exhibits over 10,000 items, with exhibitions divided into eight themes: “Social Forms of Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan – Reform and Development”, “Ecological Industries of Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan”, “Textile Crafts and Clothing Art of Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan”, “Folk Arts of Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan”, “Festivals, Music and Dance of Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan”, “Handicrafts of Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan”, “Ancient Books and Documents of Ethnic Minorities in Yunnan”, and “Precious Stones and Treasures”. The exhibitions are displayed in 16 exhibition halls.
6、Haihong Wetland Park (free)
Haihong Wetland Park is located on the Ring Lake East Road, very close to the Haigeng Dam. Here, you can not only admire flocks of seagulls flying freely, but also appreciate the beautiful scenery of the mountains and waters, and you can also experience the warmth of winter in the Dianchi Wetland.
The park has boating, cycling paths, etc., where you can relax, entertain, take your children, feed seagulls, and enjoy the autumn dawn redwood trees, etc. Transportation: No. 135 and K31 buses on Hubin Road.
7、Xinghai Peninsula Lakeside Ecological Wetland Park (free)
Xinghai Peninsula Wetland Park is located at the intersection of Ring Lake East Road and Hubin Road in Guandu District. It has complete infrastructure. You can choose to travel by car, bicycle lane, and pedestrian wooden boardwalk. Xinghai Peninsula Wetland Park is picturesque. The park has rich terrestrial and aquatic plants, adjacent to Dianchi Lake, and next to West Mountain. It has beautiful scenery throughout the year. Bright sunlight shines through the dawn redwood forest, colorful reeds sway in the wind. This is the everyday life of Xinghai Peninsula Ecological Wetland.
There is a pedestrian path within the scenic spot, where you can watch seagulls and autumn dawn redwood trees.
