2. Scenic Area Introduction
Lianfengshan Forest Park was established in 1919. There are three peaks covered with pine forests in the park, which is named after the connected mountains. Because the mountain range looks like a lotus pod from a distance, it is also known as Lotus Pod Mountain. The scenic area is located in the west of Beidaihe Beach Scenic Area, stretching for more than 5 kilometers along the sea from east to west. It is like a beautiful screen for the sea. During the Republic of China period, it was known as one of the “24 Scenic Spots of Beidaihe”, with 20 of them located here.
The highest peak of Lianfengshan, East Lianfengshan, is 153 meters above sea level. It is the highest point in Beidaihe. Tourists mainly go to the top of East Lianfengshan to enjoy the view. There is a Viewing Pavilion on the top of the mountain, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Beidaihe Beach.
