During the Spring Festival, many friends plan to take their families on a self-driving trip to see beautiful scenery and soak in hot springs in the cold weather. So here are some recommended routes for your self-driving tour in Sichuan West in winter.
Day 1
Day1: Chongqing city area – Meishan city area – Luding County
Self-driving distance: 550 kilometers;
Self-driving time: 6-7 hours;
Scenery along the way: Dongpo Impression Water Street, Luding Bridge;
Accommodation for the day: Luding County;
It takes almost 7 hours to drive from Chongqing to Kangding. You can get off the highway in Meishan at noon and taste Dongpo pork at Dongpo Impression Water Street.
In the afternoon, you can check in at the Luding Bridge along the way and stay in Luding County. In the evening, you can taste local dishes such as pepper and hemp fish.
Day 2
Day2: Luding County – Hailuogou – Moxiguzhen
Self-driving distance: 100 kilometers;
Self-driving time: 2-3 hours;
Scenery along the way: Hailuogou, Moxiguzhen;
Accommodation for the day: Moxiguzhen;
The itinerary for the day is relatively easy. In the daytime, you can enter the Hailuogou scenic spot to play, and then taste local delicacies in Moxiguzhen.
After eating and drinking, take a walk around. It’s time to soak in the snow mountain hot springs.
Day 3
Day3: Moxiguzhen – Kangding County – Xinduqiao Town
Self-driving distance: 250 kilometers;
Self-driving time: 5-6 hours;
Scenery along the way: Kangding Liuliu City, Zheduo Mountain, Yuzixi;
Accommodation for the day: Xinduqiao Town;
In the morning, you can have a meal at Kangding Liuliu City. In the afternoon, you can cross the beautiful Zheduo Mountain and go to Yuzixi to watch the sunset on Jinshan Mountain.
In the evening, check into a hotel near Xinduqiao Town and taste yak beef and wild mushroom hot pot.
Day 4
Day4: Xinduqiao Town – Daocheng Bamei Town – Danba County
Self-driving distance: 150 kilometers;
Self-driving time: 4-5 hours;
Scenery along the way: Muya Temple, Yunrao Yala, Mo Shi Park, Zhonglu Tibetan Village;
Accommodation for the day: Danba County;
The Muya Temple under the snow mountain, the beautiful Yunrao Yala, the incredible Mo Shi Park, the picturesque Zhonglu Tibetan Village…
You can have lunch in Bamei Town near Mo Shi Park, and stay in Zhonglu Tibetan Village in the evening to experience the urban scenery of this canyon.
Day 5
Day5: Danba County – Xiaojin County – Siguniangshan Town
Self-driving distance: 150 kilometers;
Self-driving time: 2-3 hours;
Scenery along the way: Siguniangshan Shuangqiao Valley, Maobiliang Viewing Platform;
Accommodation for the day: Siguniangshan Town;
The main attraction for the day is Siguniangshan Mountain. You can take a sightseeing bus to Shuangqiao Valley, which is relatively easy.
Then go to Siguniangshan Town to watch the sunset on Jinshan Mountain. You can go home the next day after staying overnight.
