I was bored at home on the weekend, and it was already a beautiful time of spring with flowers blooming everywhere. I decided to go out to enjoy the flowers. With this idea in mind, I invited a few friends and went to the nearest Qikong Bridge Flower Sea. I was immediately struck by the beauty of the place, it was much more beautiful than I imagined. Even though it was artificially planted, the visitors were very protective of the flowers. The yellow and purple flowers complemented each other, creating a strong visual impact. We were all very excited.
The Qikong Bridge is located east of Chang (Ping) Chi (Cheng) Road in Changping Hu Zhuang. It was originally a stone arch bridge from the Ming Dynasty. It was destroyed in 1953 and rebuilt as a waterway. In 1958, it was rebuilt in the original location. It was completed in 1958. In recent years, Changping District has created a flower sea around the Qikong Bridge, which has become a great place for people to escape the summer heat and enjoy the flowers. I wanted to go last year, but I didn’t make it. On Saturday, I met up with my friends and drove to the Qikong Bridge Flower Sea to enjoy the flowers, which I had been looking forward to.
On Saturday, there were many tourists coming to enjoy the flowers, and buses would drive past the bridge from time to time. The flower sea looked like a patchwork quilt up close, and the distant mountains looked like long, rolling hills.
There were new iron railings, and the flower varieties weren’t that many. The purple ones were verbena.
The growth environment for cosmos is relatively strict, and it is said that they can only survive in areas with good air quality. But the cosmos flower sea we saw was vibrant, which meant we were in a natural oxygen bar! What a surprise.
There were gliders flying high and low over the flower sea. I don’t know if they were commercial or for professional training. But I was still envious. It would be a great visual effect to be in a flower sea and look down from above!
There was some commercialization here, and there were even places to ride horses. If they hadn’t been wearing modern clothes, I would have automatically imagined them in an ancient TV series.
Bicycles were riding through the flowers.

The cosmos looked sparse and not in full bloom.
I really liked these little flowers, fresh and elegant!

It takes about two hours to enjoy the flowers at the Qikong Bridge Flower Sea. After we left, we wanted to go to the Nanwan Folk Village in Sihai Town and see the 3D paintings there.
The scenery along the way, driving from the Qikong Bridge to Nanwan Village, saw picturesque scenery, we stopped to admire the view.
Nanwan Village is part of Sihai Town in Yanqing District. The Yanliu Highway passes through the village. The village is located in a valley in the eastern mountains of Yanqing District, with an altitude of 728 meters and a pleasant climate. It is the core scenic area of the Four Seasons Flower Sea and a good summer resort village. Last year, the Yanqing Tourism Commission and Sihai Town government worked together to create 128 3D paintings on the roads and alleys of Nanwan Village, using the villagers’ houses and courtyard walls, using a combination of real and virtual methods, featuring flowers, folk customs, and entertainment, creating a special rural tourism experience for visitors (words from the internet).
A quiet street.
We had lunch at the “Flower Sea Villa.” It wasn’t very crowded that day.
The food was delicious, home-style cooking. A special dish was the Five-Color Pressed River Catch, which is five-colored noodles with sour cabbage broth.
By bus: Take the 919 express bus from De Sheng Men in Beijing to Nancai Garden Station in Yanqing and transfer to the 925 branch line towards Sihai and get off at Nanwan Village.

We navigated from the Qikong Bridge to Nanwan Village. The scenery along the way was great. Whether you take the bus or drive, the flower sea here is not to be missed, if you have the chance, you can go and take a look.
