After seeing the food in Yunnan, let’s take a look at some of the travel transportation and accommodation guides to Yunnan. This is the most basic, when traveling to Yunnan, you need to plan well, you can compare the information compiled by the editor for you.
【External Transportation】
Xi’an——Kunming: Airplane Tianjin Airlines GS7855 Flight time 2 h 15 min(10:40—12:55) ¥535
Because I didn’t plan to stay overnight in Kunming, I chose the morning flight, and I felt that this time slot was more reasonable, neither early nor late, so I didn’t have to arrive at the airport in advance, and I could also visit the attractions I wanted to go to after arriving in Kunming.
Kunming——Dali: Train K9632 Travel time 7 h 46 min (22:37—Next day 6:23) ¥97.5(Hard sleeper)
In order to save time and money, we chose to spend the night on the train. It turns out that I, who has a cleanliness phobia, couldn’t sleep! I woke up N times in the middle of the night. It should be said that I almost didn’t sleep at all!!!
If you are traveling in winter, you don’t have to take this train. You will arrive at the station before dawn, and it will be a long wait for dawn.
Tips: In addition to the train, it is also very convenient to take a bus to Dali. You can take it at the Western Bus Station. 7:20—20:00, every 15 minutes, the journey is about 4 hours, and the fare is 110—140 yuan.
Shuanglang——Lijiang: Bus The minivan from Shuanglang Bus Station booked by the inn owner Travel time about 2 h ¥79
The destination is the Lijiang High-speed Bus Station. You can book by phone on the same day. Someone will pick you up at the station before boarding, and you can buy tickets at the bus station to get on the bus.
The following is a timetable and contact information taken from the inn I stayed in (Shuanglang Lemon Tree Inn), and the actual departure time may be adjusted according to the actual situation on the day.
Lijiang——Lugu Lake: Bus Bus tickets bought from Lijiang High-speed Bus Station Travel time about 9 h ¥106
It takes about 3 days to go to Lugu Lake from Lijiang, 2 days round trip, and 1 day around the lake.
Tips
1 Tickets to Lugu Lake can be bought at the Lijiang High-speed Station and the Bus Station, and they are the same bus. The bus departs from the High-speed Station at 8:30 and stops at the Bus Station at 9:00. There is only one bus per day, and the number of buses will increase during the peak season. Due to road construction, the bus detours through Yongsheng. The bus station buses all go through three transfers: Lijiang—Yongsheng (bus); Yongsheng—Ninglang (minivan, this section of mountain road is also the most rugged, and large vehicles can’t go); Ninglang—Lugu Lake (bus). Once you get here, it means the hardships ahead are over, so you will change to a big bus again, and this section of road is relatively flat. These three sections are driven by different drivers, each driver is familiar with their own route, so the driving skills are relatively good. For safety reasons, it will not be as fast as a chartered driver. If you encounter snow, the bus station will cancel the departure if the situation is very dangerous. The car that left the day before we left was canceled because of snow. When I asked the travel agency’s tour bus, they said that they would still leave, but the bus station bus only stops at Daluoshu Village. For those who want to stay in other villages, they need to take a taxi or carpool after arriving. The road from Lijiang to Lugu Lake is under construction, I don’t know if it has been repaired. After it is repaired, it is said to take only 5 hours or even less. Please verify!Tips 2 Lunch time is when you change the car for the first time. You can bring your own dry food or eat at a farmhouse contacted by the driver, 25 yuan per person, a rice meal, don’t expect the taste, but I think it’s better than eating bread. The public toilets on the way are all very unsanitary and cost money, please prepare some change
Here’s a picture of the booking method taken at the bus station
Lijiang—Nanning: Airplane Kunming Airlines KY8316 Flight time 1 h 25 min (21:15—22:40) ¥ 580
The reason why I didn’t go home the same day I came back from Lugu Lake is because I was afraid that I would miss the plane. So I stayed in Lijiang for another day, and choosing the evening flight on the next day also gave me more time to explore.
Lijiang—Xi’an: Airplane Capital Airlines JD5349 Flight time 2 h 5min(19:25—21:30) ¥836
Kunming
Changshui Airport——City Center: Airport Bus Airport Line No. 2 (Terminal Station: Railway Station) Travel time about 50min ¥25
Tips: Buy tickets early to get on the bus. We waited for almost half an hour before the bus left.
The flight attendants on the bus will give a brief introduction to the stops along the way. Since we need to eat, the flight attendants suggested getting off at the second stop (Kail International), and it is said that the food near here is better than that near the train station.
It costs about 100 yuan (by meter) to take a taxi from the airport to the city center.
City Transportation: Kail International (one of the stops for the airport bus)——Jinma Biji Square (Bus ¥1); Jinma Biji Square——Cuihu Park (Taxi 10 yuan); Cuihu Park——Cultural Alley (about 15—20 minutes walk); Cultural Alley—Railway Station (Taxi about 15 yuan)
Dali
Dali Railway Station—South Gate of Dali Ancient City: Dali Scenic Spot Direct Bus (very clean minibus) Travel time 30 minutes ¥10
Tips: You can leave your luggage at the Dali Tourist Center (near the South Gate) for free until 5 pm on the day you take the Scenic Spot Direct Bus. This is very convenient for those who haven’t booked rooms in advance. The reason why I didn’t choose to take the bus is because we arrived too early, and the bus didn’t seem to be running yet, and 10 yuan was also a good deal, hehe. The ticket office for the Scenic Spot Direct Bus is on the left side of the exit of the railway station (with your back to the exit)
Here is a timetable for the Dali Scenic Spot Direct Bus
Transportation within Dali Ancient City: There are electric vehicles available for use within the ancient city, 3 yuan per person. They stop at common locations within the ancient city.
Cycling around Erhai Lake: Rent a bicycle for 20 yuan; rent a small electric vehicle for 40—50 (different models have different prices), the most rental places are near the East Gate (Erhai Gate) of the ancient city.
Cycling Route
West Line: East Gate of Dali Ancient City—Xizhou Town: Take the ring road around the lake, about 21KM one way, take the main road, about 18KM one way. When going, take the ring road, and when returning, take the main road (it seems to be called Dali Road, which is the one where vehicles usually travel) to save time.
East Line: Shuanglang Town—Xiaoputuo: Known as the most beautiful coastal road in the country, it is shorter than the distance from Dali Ancient City to Xizhou Town, about 16KM one way. Compared to the town center, the more you go towards the ring road around the lake, the more rental shops there are, until you reach the road to Sea-Earth Life. There are many shops, so you can compare prices.
Chartered Car: Half a day costs about 200 yuan
Tips: I personally think that it’s better to cycle around the lake instead of taking a chartered car. It’s different to enjoy the scenery of Erhai Lake slowly while blowing the wind and listening to music.
Boat Trip: Rowboat costs about ¥20 per person, for sightseeing in the nearby waters; Big boat is more expensive, about 70—140 yuan one way.
Dali Ancient City—Shuanglang:
Bus Station Bus: 8:30—17:30, starts from Xiaguan, passes by the east side of the ancient city, you can hail the bus on Dali Road, 15 yuan per person, about 1 hour ride.
Carpooling: 30—45 yuan per person, one way. We chose carpooling, 45 yuan per person, 7-seater business car, departing from the South Gate of the ancient city. Including parking and admiring the scenery, it took about 1.5 hours.
Dali Tourist Scenic Spot Direct Bus: 9:30—17:30, 40 yuan per person one way, 55 yuan per person round trip.
Lijiang City Transportation
1. Bus Station—Dayan Ancient Town: It is very convenient to take a bus after getting off, 5—7 stops, No. 11, No. 13, No. 6a, No. 8 outer loop can be taken, get off at the ancient town parking lot or ancient town entrance. Taxi costs about 15—20 yuan.
2. Dayan Ancient Town——Sanyi Airport: To go to the airport from the ancient town, you can take the airport bus at Lan Tian Hotel (about 1.5KM from the big waterwheel in the ancient town, taxi costs about 10 yuan), 6:30-22:00, every 30 minutes, 20 yuan per person, about 50 minutes ride.
Lugu Lake Loop Transportation
Cycling: Rent a bicycle for 20 yuan, an electric vehicle for 70 yuan. Cycling around the lake takes about 7-8 hours, and an electric vehicle takes 4-5 hours.
Chartered Car: About 300 yuan, we chartered one for 260 (including Goddess Bay), a small car. It takes about 4-5 hours to cycle around the lake, there is no clear time limit.
Carpooling: 50—70 yuan per person (the inn owner can help contact)
Hiking: It takes at least 2 days.
Tips: The Lugu Lake loop is about 70 kilometers long, and there are several steep slopes and sharp turns along the way. Electric vehicles and bicycles are not recommended! Unless your driving skills are very proficient, beginners are not advised to try, this road is much more dangerous than the road around Erhai Lake! When renting an electric vehicle, choose one with enough horsepower, otherwise you can’t go up the slope. We saw several girls pushing their cars along the way. We chose a chartered car. Although it’s not as enjoyable as cycling, it’s worth it for the sake of life safety.
Also: Chartered cars usually don’t go to Goddess Bay. Goddess Bay has beautiful scenery, and there is a popular restaurant in Lugu Lake called “Good People’s Snacks”. If you want to go to Goddess Bay, you need to tell the driver, and the driver usually requires extra money, but our driver didn’t.
Accommodation
It’s not necessary to book in advance in Yunnan during the off-season. If you don’t mind the trouble, you can find a room on the spot. The price is actually cheaper than online, and the range of choices is also wider. We booked our accommodation on the spot except for the Awa Dongyue Inn at Lugu Lake (because it was getting dark when we arrived, we booked it online in advance to avoid hassle). Because our budget was limited, we stayed in budget inns during this trip. For this type of inn, I prioritize hygiene first, hot water and heating second (because it was winter), cost-effectiveness third, and other aspects are ranked after that. It is not comparable to luxurious inns. Maybe it will be helpful for you who have the same consumption concept
【Dali Ancient City Accommodation】
Ancient City Impression Inn
Address: Ancient City District, Wenxian Road, South Gate of Dali Ancient City (next to Tiema Post Station)
Contact Number: 15125068203/18698616935
Recommendation Index: ★★★★
Room Type: European standard double room ¥120 (There is a group purchase for this inn on Meituan, but if it is not the peak season, it is cheaper to bargain locally)
Overall Evaluation: For a budget hotel, the price is quite good. It is a 2-minute walk to the South Gate, which is very convenient. Two 3-story buildings with a narrow courtyard. Transparent floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious space, clean bedding, it should be newly opened. Air conditioner and hair dryer are all available, the only drawback is that the water is not very hot. If you are afraid of cold in winter, it’s better to come back early to take a bath.
Please automatically ignore the messy quilt in the picture below.
【Shuanglang Accommodation】
Lemon Tree Seaview Inn
Address: No. 365, Shuanglang Village, Shuanglang Town. Opposite the Shuanglang Vegetable Market, enter the Impression Shuanglang Inn alley, the second-to-last house by the sea.
Contact Number: 13308728634
Recommendation Index: ★★★★
Room Type: Garden View Double Bed Room ¥150
Overall Evaluation: The sea view terrace is the biggest selling point. Even if you don’t stay in a sea view room, this public area is a good choice to sit and read a book for a day. The inn is not new, but it’s clean and decorated with a lot of charm. The hot water is also good. The owner is very nice, you can just leave the key at the front desk when you check out.
【Lijiang Accommodation】
Mo Fei Inn
Address: No. 32, Zhenxing Alley, Wuyi Street, Lijiang Ancient City District
Contact Number: 13545754333
Recommendation Index: ★★★★
Room Type: Tatami Double Bed Room ¥150
Overall Evaluation: The location is easy to find, just opposite A’an Yogurt. The courtyard is very small, and the house is made of wood. The hygiene is not very good, I could see the bed sheets hadn’t been changed, I asked the staff to change them to new ones, and their attitude was okay. The overall value for money is not high, the house is very cold in winter, but the hot water is very good, the water pressure and water temperature are perfect. Apart from that, it doesn’t have any other competitive advantages.
Yi Xiu Ju Inn
Address: No. 43, Chongren Alley, Qiyi Street, Dayan Ancient Town, Lijiang
Contact Number: 0888-5125566
Recommendation Index: ★★★★
Room Type: Sunny Double Bed Room ¥180
Overall Evaluation: The environment is great, and the decoration is very charming. They have two super cute dogs. The owner is also young. It’s great to sit here and have tea and enjoy the moon at night! Hygiene, facilities, etc. are all good, the only drawback is that the water is not hot enough. If you are going in winter, be prepared.
Dream of Thousand Searches Inn
Address: No. 54, Chongren Alley, Qiyi Street, Lijiang Ancient City
Contact Number: 18608883340
Recommendation Index: ★★★★
Room Type: Sunny Double Bed Room ¥140
Overall Evaluation: The biggest characteristic is cleanliness. The bedding is very clean! The inn is very small and the location is not easy to find. It’s quiet and peaceful. The owner is a girl, very enthusiastic. The hot water is also good, the only downside is that the room is too small.
The following is a photo taken before checkout, the bed is already messy, please ignore it.
【Lugu Lake Accommodation】
Awa Dongyue Inn
Address: Opposite the National Museum, Luoshui Village, Lugu Lake Scenic Area
Contact Number: 13888516594
Recommendation Index: ★★★★★
Room Type: Business Standard Room ¥179
Overall Evaluation: Recommended! Highly recommended! I booked it online with a try-it-out attitude, and it turned out to be as good as the reviews online! During the off-season, there are fewer people. I originally booked a standard room on the 1st floor, and the inn upgraded me to a business standard room on the 2nd floor for free. The location is also easy to find, a 5-minute walk from the station. The room is spacious, the bed is also comfortable, and most importantly, it’s clean! There are no stains on the bedding! There is plenty of hot water, and the underfloor heating is so powerful that the clothes I hung on the chair dried easily. The service is good, when I checked in, the inn told me that I could make free domestic long-distance calls; the next day I came back from cycling around the lake, I found that the room had been cleaned. I want to say that this is the most comfortable place to stay in Yunnan in 10 days!
There is a viewing platform on the rooftop, where it’s nice to enjoy the scenery of the lake and mountains, but I hope the owner will put more tables and chairs for guests to rest, otherwise it will be a waste!
