After visiting Xitang, I came to Phoenix Ancient City. Maybe it’s because of preconceived notions, I always feel it’s not distinctive enough. Perhaps it’s related to the cultural atmosphere here. You know, most of the people living in Phoenix Ancient City are the Tujia and Miao people of western Hunan. The people in the mountains are straightforward, while Xitang is a true Jiangnan beauty, very gentle.
Phoenix Ancient City is separated by the wide Tuojiang River. It is not like the delicate and petite Xitang, but rather a kind of bold and cheerful style. If you want to visit Phoenix Ancient City, I recommend the peaceful morning and the night view under the night sky. In the early morning, there are fewer tourists, and without the hustle and bustle of the day, walking alone on the ancient bricks and carefully examining the ancient city, there is a special flavor.
The dazzling lights at night will make Phoenix Ancient City shine brightly, and you can enjoy the prosperous scenery. Although you will hear the “Lijiang drumbeat” (that kind of drumbeat, people mistakenly think it’s in Lijiang, many places have it), but what does it matter?
