1、Dalinggou Kiwi Fruit Valley Scenic Area
The Dalinggou Kiwi Fruit Valley Scenic Area is located in Shisanling Town, Changping District. The scenic area gets its name from the wild kiwi fruit that grows there. The 2,500-meter-long wooden plank road winds its way up the mountain, organically connecting with the rolling hills, forming a complete scenic scroll.
The area features a primeval forest landscape with dense vegetation and a forest coverage rate of over 95%.
The area’s main attraction is its abundant kiwi fruit, wild jujubes, and red fruits. There is an observation corridor on the mountain valley that showcases some scientific knowledge about kiwi fruit.
After passing the observation corridor, you begin the climb. The mountain valley scenery is breathtaking. The plank road meanders through the trees, appearing and disappearing in the lush foliage. The view is expansive, and from the summit, you can even see the distant Shisanling Reservoir.
2、Shisanling Forest Park Mangshan Scenic Area
The Shisanling Forest Park Mangshan Scenic Area is located in the northeastern part of Changping District. It sits on the east side of the Shisanling Reservoir, covering a total area of 130,000 mu (about 8,666 hectares), of which 6,000 mu (about 400 hectares) are open to the public. It is the largest national forest park in Beijing.
The area features a primeval forest landscape with dense vegetation and a forest coverage rate of over 95%. The park’s highest peak reaches 659 meters. It is named Mangshan (Python Mountain) due to its undulating terrain resembling a giant python.
The stone sculpture of the Great Buddha, the jungle plank road, and the Prayer Corridor are the park’s highlights. The lush green mountains stretch as far as the eye can see, with layers of greenery extending endlessly.
Standing on the Mangshan Viewing Platform, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding beautiful mountains and waters as well as the entire Changping urban area. Looking back at Mangshan, you can see the entire mountain range.
3、Yinshan Pagoda Forest
The Yinshan Pagoda Forest Scenic Area is a national scenic spot. It has been a sacred place of northern Buddhism since the Liao and Jin dynasties and is one of the “Eight Sceneries of Yanping” from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
The area combines beautiful natural and historical landscapes and is renowned for its numerous pagodas. The pagoda bodies are adorned with many bas-reliefs, with elegant lines. They are centuries old, having weathered the passage of time but remain well-preserved.
The natural scenery of Yinshan Mountain is beautiful and magnificent, with lush pines and cypresses, dense and verdant. The tranquil and elegant natural environment offers a perfect place for people to relax and travel.
