Located in the southeast of Arshan City, Bailang Town is a gathering place for the natural beauty of the Arshan region. Autumn leaves and winter snow are the two calling cards of Bailang Town.
At the same time, you can encounter magical little deer, and you will not miss the mark of human industrial civilization.
Especially after the second season of “Dear Inn” aired, staying at the “Dear Inn” in Bailang Town has become one of the reasons why many travelers come to Arshan.
The name Bailang Peak comes from a very interesting story. In the past, residents were often plagued by wolves. When white wolves attacked, it was often difficult to distinguish between snow and wolves, so they uniformly called the phenomenon of rolling snow as “white wolves.”
The ice and snow season here lasts nearly seven months. During this long period, the most famous spectacle is the miles-long rime frost corridor.
The water vapor in the air condenses on the branches due to the cold, forming rime frost, like snow-white petals hanging on the trees, covering the branches of the trees with a layer of crystal-clear clothing.
This rare natural wonder is very common on Bailang Peak in winter. On the way to the top of the peak, you can see the miles-long rime frost in its entirety.
Deer Park
You don’t have to go to Nara to see the cute appearance of deer up close. You can do that in Arshan. The deer here are friendly with people but still retain a certain wildness.
The Deer Park is located in Bailang Town. Every household here raises sika deer.
They may be hiding in the forest, or they may be walking alone in the simple village. A chance encounter with these snow sprites during your travels might be a particularly wonderful experience.

Arshan Forest Park
The Arshan Forest Park has abundant landscapes, including forests, volcanic crater lakes, the unfrozen river that runs through the park, volcanic rock canyons, and natural mineral springs.
The forest park is vast. When entering the park, you need to take a scenic shuttle bus. The park ticket is valid for two days. You can take the shuttle bus to visit attractions according to the route recommendations on the ticket.
Halaha River
Arshan Forest Park has many beautiful lakes and rivers. The Halaha River, which originates in Arshan, becomes a stream of blue in the winter snow due to geothermal heat. It never freezes.
It crosses through the forests and the foot of the snow-capped mountains, becoming a resting place for herds of cattle and sheep. It also attracts the curiosity of many travelers.
In the snowy winter landscape, the slowly rising mist makes the area where the river flows like a fairyland, a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts.
Tuofengling Tianchi
Tuofengling Tianchi is about 40 kilometers from the Arshan Forest Park visitor center. It is shaped like a foot, like the footprint of a giant. It is said that the water level of Tuofengling Tianchi remains constant throughout the year, a magical story passed down from generation to generation among travelers.
Walk about 20 minutes along the visitor trail to reach the viewing platform on top of the mountain. Looking out from the top of the mountain, the pool water and the trees beside the shore are reflected in each other, as if you have reached a paradise.
In the summer, the water surface of Tianchi is blue, while in the winter, it is covered in white ice. Although you cannot have close contact with Tianchi, Tuofengling Tianchi is still worth visiting in all four seasons.
Santanxia
Santanxia is located in the upper reaches of the Halaha River. The canyon, about three kilometers long, spans three pools, hence its name. The volcanic rock riverbed of the canyon forms huge rocks, each with a unique shape. You can walk along the trail by the river.
In winter, the frozen riverbed, the golden coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests on both sides, and the occasional blue ice caves and ice pillars in the glaciers are all magical sights worth exploring.
