Hong Kong is a very modern city, adjacent to Shenzhen. It is very convenient to travel from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, you can even take the subway to Hong Kong. For people from mainland China, visiting Hong Kong is still very novel. Here is a route map from Shenzhen to Hong Kong for you to refer.
Take the East Rail Line from Shenzhen Luohu Port, about 40 minutes later, get off at Tsim Sha Tsui Station. Tsim Sha Tsui is the first place I visited in Hong Kong.
Tsim Sha Tsui Station
Walking out of the subway entrance, I saw the traditional Chinese characters “Canton Road” on the street sign and the familiar taxis from Hong Kong movies driving on the street. Also, I could hear people talking in “Cantonese” from time to time.
At that moment, I was so excited. I was eager to get to know this city and stroll around it to experience the unique charm of Hong Kong Island in a day.
I always thought the song “Next Stop Heavenly King” by Twins was just the title of the song. Until that day, when I recharged my Octopus card at the port, I took a copy of the MTR subway map and browsed it. Only then did I realize that there was actually a station called “Heavenly King”.
This was my first trip to Hong Kong, after living in Shenzhen for more than ten years. On my way home from school, I could see the mountains of Hong Kong across the Shenzhen River from Binhe Avenue. I always wondered when I could go to the other side of the river. Luckily, my wish came true at the beginning of last year.
Hong Kong really “smells good”, both inside the subway carriages and in shopping malls like Harbour City, you can smell a faint fragrance of perfume, which is the most direct sensory impression Hong Kong gave me.
In the past two years, Eslite Bookstore in Taiwan has been opening branches in mainland China one after another. Before that, Eslite Bookstore was only available in Hong Kong and Taiwan. After walking around Tsim Sha Tsui, I suddenly saw the sign of Eslite Bookstore, one of the bookstores I really wanted to visit. So, I went upstairs to browse the bookstore and bought a couple of books I liked. I had heard about it for a long time. This trip to Hong Kong Island finally allowed me to experience the unique atmosphere of this bookstore firsthand.
I am a person who loves to read physical books. Although we are now in the information age, electronic reading is very convenient and cost-effective. Sometimes, when I smell the fragrance of books, my mood suddenly becomes happy, and I can calm down and read.
Whenever I go to a city, I will go to the bookstores in the city or the newsstands on the sidewalks to try to find the written records and cultural symbols belonging to this place.

Victoria Harbour is the port and waters between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula. It is named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. At the same time, Hong Kong is also known as the “Pearl of the Orient” and one of the “Top Three Night Views in the World” because of Victoria Harbour.
After visiting Eslite Bookstore, walk a short distance from Tsim Sha Tsui, and you will reach Victoria Harbour. After strolling around the square, I walked along the way to the Golden Bauhinia Square and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. During the walk, I also visited the nearby Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

I walked along both sides of Victoria Harbour for a whole day, and I took pictures of its morning scenery and beautiful night view.

The best view is from the top of Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, where you can overlook the entire Victoria Harbour.
At noon, I took a ferry to Central on the other side of Victoria Harbour. I saw the Ferris wheel, and I also went to the Hong Kong official Apple store to take a look.

After staying in Central for a while, I took the ferry back to the other side. Suddenly, I remembered that I hadn’t walked on the famous Avenue of Stars. Unfortunately, the Avenue of Stars was under maintenance and visitors were not allowed to enter. It was a bit of a pity that I didn’t get to walk on the avenue with the handprints of celebrities. It’s okay, I told myself. I will make sure to go and visit next time.
This was a small regret of my first trip to Hong Kong Island. It’s impossible to visit the entire city in one trip. This gave me a reason and an expectation for my next visit.
That day, after dinner in Tsim Sha Tsui, while taking pictures of the night view of Victoria Harbour, it started raining. We quickly took pictures of the night view of Victoria Harbour and ended our trip two hours ahead of schedule. We took the East Rail Line back to Shenzhen in Hung Hom.
My initial impression of Hong Kong came from Hong Kong movies. This trip to Hong Kong Island gave me a further understanding of Hong Kong.
Here are my personal summaries of the deep impressions Hong Kong left on me:
1. I can smell a faint fragrance of perfume in many places in Hong Kong.
2. When taking the elevator, most people stand on the right, leaving the left side for people in a hurry. When waiting for the subway, there is no random crowding or queue jumping.
3. The driver’s seat of a car in Hong Kong is on the passenger side in mainland China. The roads and driver’s seats are opposite.
4. The prices in Hong Kong are really too expensive. A fast food meal costs 40 yuan, even though it’s filling, but I feel really sorry for the money.
5. The tin advertising boards outside shops in Hong Kong are very characteristic and you can find old Hong Kong symbols.
6. Apart from shopping, some places in Hong Kong are also worth taking photos and sightseeing.
These are some of my summaries.
Later, when I was free, I looked through the photos I took during my trip. I felt that the night view of Hong Kong was still very beautiful, but there were too many people watching the night view at night. Hong Kong Island’s night view can be divided into two parts: one part is the colorful billboards that flash with neon lights; the other part is the bustling traffic that reflects the glittering city lights at night.

Within a day, between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Two cities, separated only by the Shenzhen River and a few land border crossings.
The year I took the middle school entrance exam, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was established for 30 years.
Shenzhen is my second hometown. Compared with Hong Kong, I still prefer Shenzhen.
I came to the city you have been to, walked the streets you have walked, and recorded the softened journey of time.
The meaning of travel is to walk more, see more scenery, and meet people and things along the way. Travel will always bring us surprises, disappointments, joy, sadness, and regrets, but more importantly, growth and harvest.
For Hong Kong, I also have a unique love.
