Jiagedaqi, when you see this place name, do you think it is abroad? It is actually not. It is a city in Heilongjiang. It is not much different from most other cities, but it is different, do you want to see what the difference is?
On the morning of August 22, we left A Lihe Town, Oroqen Banner, for Jiagedaqi. A Lihe Town is very close to Jiagedaqi, only 30 kilometers away, and we arrived quickly.
Jiagedaqi’s full name is Jiagedaqi District, Daxing’anling Region, Heilongjiang Province. “Jiagedaqi” is in the Oroqen language, meaning “a place with Siberian pine”. Jiagedaqi is the political, economic, cultural center and transportation hub of the Daxing’anling Region. Interestingly, because of historical legacy issues, Jiagedaqi is located in the Oroqen Autonomous Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, but it is under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang. The administrative office of a region is not located within the jurisdiction of the region, but is a fly-in enclave across the province. This is a special case in the whole country.

The mother river of Jiagedaqi, the Gan River, flows through Jiagedaqi from west to east. The Gan River is a tributary of the Nen River, originating from the foot of the Woqi Mountains on the east side of the Daxing’anling Mountains, and joins the Nen River near Nenjiang County, Heilongjiang Province.
