1、Fengjian Water Town
Zhouzhuang of Shunde
Fengjian Village in Shun De District, Foshan, is the oldest village in Shun De. People have lived here since the Western Han Dynasty, and it became a village during the Tang Dynasty. It was one of the important bases for “Sangji Yutang” in history.
Old houses, ancestral halls, and small bridges flowing with water can be seen everywhere in Fengjian Village, so it is known as “Zhouzhuang of Shun De”. Quiet water town, ancient bridge.
There are more than 30 stone bridges in the village. These bridges are exquisite in architectural craftsmanship. The bridge railings are mostly decorated with carved stone statues. They were built in different dynasties. Among them, the three stone arch bridges that best witness the prosperity of the water town market are Jin’ao Yudong Bridge, Mingyuan Bridge, and Juji Bridge.
Self-driving: Guangzhou city → Guangzhou Ring Expressway → Bai’an Road → Beishui Avenue → Guhai Line → Longgu Road → X782 → Industrial Horizontal Four Road → Destination.
Backpackers: Take a Guangzhou-Shunde Xingtan bus at Fangcun Bus Station, about 1 hour’s journey. Take a motorcycle from Xingtan Bus Station directly to Fengjian Village (Note: Unless you happen to meet one, don’t take the bus from the bus station to Fengjian Village. This bus runs every two hours).
Ticket: Free. You can rent a small boat to go on the water town. The most interesting thing about Fengjian is the ancient bridges with long history and unique designs. It is the best angle to photograph the ancient bridges by boating on the river.
2、Yingxi Peak Forest Corridor
Returning to the mountains, forests and fields
The Yingxi Peak Forest Corridor, known as the “Little Guilin of Guangdong”, is the longest peak forest corridor discovered in Guangdong Province so far. The scenic spot, which extends over 20 kilometers, features unique landscapes.
Small streams, rivers, and rivers meander through it. The thousands of shapes of peaks, mysterious caves, strange rocks, ever-changing sea of clouds, fog, bamboo forests, and farmhouses are scattered among them, presenting a truly picturesque scenery!
Self-driving: Guangzhou → Guangqing Expressway → Qinglian Expressway (Jintan Exit) → Provincial Highway 348 → Jiulong Town.
Backpackers: There are buses from the provincial station directly to Yingde Bus Station, or you can take a train to Yingde, transfer to Route 1 bus to Yingde Bus Station, and then take a bus to Jiulong Town. After arriving, you can walk or bike to visit the Peak Forest Corridor.

3、Lianshan Ou Family Terraces
A beautiful rural oil painting
The Ou Family Terraces are located at the foot of Dawushan Mountain, the highest peak in Lianshan, which is known as the “Roof of Lingnan, Guangdong Province”. They are distributed in an M shape around Ou Family Village, stretching nearly 3 kilometers, making them the largest and most original terraces in Guangdong Province.
The Ou Family Terraces are stacked along the mountains, and the scenery varies with the seasons. They are bright in spring, verdant in summer, golden with waves of rice in autumn. Some tourists have exclaimed: “Why go to Longsheng to appreciate terraces when the terraces in Lianshan are beautiful beyond words!”
Self-driving: Guangzhou → Guangqing Expressway → Qinglian Expressway (Liannan/Lianshan Exit) → Longkou Bridge → G323 → Taibo Town → 807 Township Road → Ou Family Village.
Backpackers: Take a bus from various bus stations to Liannan Bus Station, then transfer to a bus to Lianshan Bus Station. Get off at Taibo Town, where there are no buses to Ou Family Village. You can only take a taxi or a motorcycle to get there.

4、Panyu Dawen Village: Family Fun
Experience ecological countryside
Located north of Dongyong Town, it is known as the most beautiful ecological village, most suitable for family outings. This beautiful village was formed by fishermen moving from the sea to the shore, retaining typical Tanka customs and traditions. The fruit corridor and the water greenway are the most distinctive features, and should not be missed!
Self-driving: Panyu Bridge → Panyu Avenue → Shinan Road → Dali Gao Station → Guangdong Province Tilapia Fish Farm → 100 meters ahead to the Wetland Park Station.
Backpackers: From Guangzhou, take Metro Line 3 to Panyu Square Station, Exit A, walk about 100 meters to the front of Bank of China Tower and take Bus No. 11 (16 stops) to Dawen Village Station (Panyu) and get off, walk about 20 meters to Dawen Village Archway. Or take Metro Line 4 to Dongyong Station, Exit C, take South 35 at Dongyong Metro Station Bus Stop (13 stops) to Dawen Village Archway Station and get off.

5、Yingde Bai Niutang Grassland
A hidden gem
Did you know Guangdong has grassland? Located 200 kilometers from Guangzhou in Tianmengou, Yingde, Qingyuan, is an undeveloped scenic spot. There are countless waterfalls, unique “tree houses”, and a high-altitude grassland rarely seen in Guangdong.
Walk up the stone path from the foot of the mountain. The area above 1100 meters above sea level is a high-altitude grassland, known as “Bai Niutang Camp”. Green grass and small hills rise and fall, wildflowers are scattered everywhere, offering a bird’s-eye view of the highest point of the Ruyuan Grand Canyon and the Yingxi Peak Forest Corridor. At night, it is a paradise for summer heat escape and outdoor camping!
Self-driving: Guangzhou → Da Guang Expressway → Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway → Yingfo Line → Destination.

6、Jiangmen Kaiping Diaolou
Explore the world’s most beautiful villages
Have you seen “The Grandmaster” and “Let the Bullets Fly”? That’s right, the filming locations of these two movies were all in Kaiping Diaolou! Kaiping Diaolou is the first world cultural heritage in Guangdong. Walking into Kaiping Diaolou is like walking into a painting.
The well-preserved Diaolou are scattered among ancient forests and bamboo groves. Kaiping Diaolou is relatively remote. There are no direct buses between the scenic spots, Liyuan, Zili Village, Majianglong Diaolou Group, Jinjiangli Diaolou Group, and Nanlou.
If conditions permit, it is best to drive there. Put on your backpack, walk between the rice fields, vegetable gardens, and Diaolou, start your exploration journey, taste the famous Kaiping yellow eel rice, and spend a leisurely holiday.
Self-driving: Guangzhou city → Guangfo Expressway → Shenhai Expressway Guangzhou Branch → Shenhai Expressway → Kaiyang Expressway → X555 → Destination.
Backpackers: At the bus station on the right side of Kaiping Bus Station, take Bus No. 13 from Yici to Jinji (5 yuan) and tell the driver you are going to Jinjiangli Diaolou Group. When you pass Xianggan Town, you can prepare to get off. After entering Jinjiangli Diaolou Group, there are no clear signs. Walk along the road for one or two kilometers, and you will reach Jinjiangli Diaolou Group.

7、Yangjiang Lanpao Bay
Witness the simplest life of fishermen
The picturesque Lanpao Bay is located in Lanpao Village, Xitou Town, Yangxi County. It is about half an hour’s drive from Yangxi County Town and is close to the beautiful Shaba Bay Scenic Area.
The coastline of Lanpao Bay is 6.5 kilometers long, with extremely clear water, extremely white sand, moderate grain size, gentle slope, clear seawater, fresh air, beautiful environment, and shuttling sailboats on the sea, rolling waves, and the sea and sky blending together, creating a fascinating sight.
The bay is vast and boundless, with mountains along the shore shrouded in clouds and mist, creating a rich landscape with a southern charm. The blue ribbon-like sea is crystal clear, sparkling under the sun.

8、Yangdong County Da’ao Fishing Village
Enjoy a seafood feast
Da’ao Fishing Village is an ancient fishing port located in the southeast of Dongping Town, Yangdong County, situated on the eastern side of the famous national center fishing port – Dongping Town, Yangdong County. Da’ao Fishing Village belonged to Nanhai County in the Qin Dynasty and Hepu County in the Han Dynasty, historically known as the “First of the Six Ports”, a necessary port on the ancient “Maritime Silk Road” of China. Here, the villagers are honest and simple, with a strong fishing tradition, boasting a profound fishing culture, and it is one of the most complete fishing villages in Guangdong Province that has preserved the original appearance of Ming Dynasty fishing huts.
Da’ao Fishing Village has been rated as a Guangdong Provincial Humanistic and Historical Most Beautiful Rural Tourism Demonstration Zone (Point), a Guangdong Provincial Tourism Characteristic Village, a Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit of Yangjiang City, and was awarded the “National AAA Tourism Scenic Spot” title in 2012. It was awarded the “Guangdong Provincial Photography Base” title in 2013 and named “China Ancient Village (Guangdong Traditional Residence)”.
