Hiking routes

North Great Wall Hiking Route:

Entrance → North 1 → North 7 Good Man Slope → North 8 highest point → North 11 → Downhill to the parking lot of the front mountain There are many tourists in the north section of Badaling Great Wall. It is very steep from North 8 to North 11, pay attention to safety. This route is really energy-consuming.

Badaling Great Wall round trip aerial cable car route: Strongly recommended!

Bus at the back mountain Rolling Sky Ditch parking lot → aerial cable car up → North 7 Good Man Slope → North 8 Good Man Slope → Free climbing and touring → back to North 7 cable car down → back to the boarding point.

The most energy-saving and time-saving way to visit Badaling! Strongly recommended.

North Great Wall hiking + aerial cable car down:

Entrance → North 1 → North 7 Good Man Slope → North 8 highest point → back to North 7 cable car down → back to the boarding point. Avoid the steepest section from North 8 to North 11, and it also greatly increases the climbing experience.

South Great Wall hiking route:

Entrance → South 1 → South 7 → return the same way The south section of the Great Wall is relatively flat compared to the north section, there are fewer tourists, and the natural scenery is better. It is more suitable for the elderly and children to climb. But the main check-in point of Badaling is still at North 8.

South Great Wall ground cable car:

The ground cable car arrives at South 4. If you want to take a look at the south section of the Great Wall, it is recommended that you take the ground cable car round trip and save your energy for the north section.

Badaling Great Wall overall route:

From north to south direction: North 11 → North 8 Good Man Slope → North 7 aerial cable car → North 1 → hiking to the entrance → South 1 → South 4 ground cable car → South 7. The whole route is generally divided into sections for visiting~

Ticket Prices

Ticket: Adult 35 yuan / ticket, free for under 18 / over 60 years old, but reservation is required.

Cable car: 100 for single trip, 140 for round trip.

Tickets and cable car tickets can be purchased on the same day on the Badaling direct bus at the Beijing Tourism Distribution Center.

Things to note

1. Badaling direct bus needs to be booked in advance.

2. Bring your ID card, wear sneakers, bring enough drinking water, do sun protection, pay attention to warmth, do not hold an umbrella when climbing the Great Wall, to avoid blocking your sight when climbing the stairs and causing danger.

3. It is highly recommended to take the cable car up and down, don’t “exercise” yourself~
