Shanghai Disneyland is currently the largest amusement park in Asia. It perfectly combines Eastern cultural elements with Western civilization. Bringing your children here can help them find their own childhood memories, full of love. Both you and your children will have a great time.
How much does a student ticket cost at Shanghai Disneyland?
There are no discounts for student tickets, and the price remains the same.
What a simple and unadorned title, a quiet melody, holding a cat in the evening of Qixi Festival, drinking some wine, being tortured by Moments, I really can’t think of a more elegant title.
To get to the point, this trip to Disney was very rewarding, so I couldn’t help but write a strategy guide. I flipped through my photo album but couldn’t find a good picture for the title, so I’ll just use this one, the castle cursed by the witch.
The castle cursed by the witch
Time: Friday. Time is important. I feel like the peak and off-peak seasons at Disney are completely dependent on students’ summer and winter vacations and holidays. Although I felt like there were already a lot of people on Friday, seeing the waiting time for projects on the Disney Resort APP on Saturday, it was completely insignificant. So, it’s best to go on a weekday during non-holiday seasons.
Accommodation: Our standard was to be as close as possible, ideally within walking distance. The Disney Hotel, which is only a lake away from Disneyland and accessible by boat, is undoubtedly good, and the price is also reasonable. So we chose the Pick-Up International Youth Hostel near Kangxin Highway, which is one station away. No comments.
Clothing: Comfortable and stylish. Your shoes must be comfortable, there are countless races waiting for you.
Preparation: Download the “Disney Resort APP,” which has a detailed map showing the locations of projects and the waiting time. If you can’t understand the location, don’t worry, I can’t understand it either. Just follow the general direction and ask the staff. The waiting time can give you a mental reference and help you adjust your plan.
Next, let’s talk about the itinerary for the day. We arrived at the hostel around 10 pm, and tried to book a car on Didi for 6 am the next morning, but failed. This might be because it was late, and we planned to take a taxi there directly in the morning. So staying close by is more convenient and saves money. Here’s an explanation of why we didn’t take the subway directly from Kangxin Highway to Disney. The first train heading towards Disney is at 6 am, and Kangxin Highway Station is the second to last station. The first train arrives at 7:04 am, and the queue will probably be very long. Fortunately, we booked a fast car for 6:10 am during our morning routine. The driver said he had already picked up customers who arrived at 3:30 am. There were already a lot of people queuing up when we arrived, I didn’t count exactly how many, but there were probably 7 or 8 entrances on each side of the security checkpoint, and each queue was 50 to 100 meters long.
The drop-off point was not at the entrance, there was a long distance to walk. My friend said the strategy guide they referenced mentioned a sense of urgency after getting off the car, so we ran all the way to the security checkpoint entrance, which took about 5-10 minutes. Then came the long waiting time, if it’s summer, I suggest you buy a small fan, because you’ll be waiting in the hot sun for countless times throughout the day. It was around 7:30 am when security checks started, and bags needed to be opened for inspection.
Entrance, run. Just run here, the next entrance is for ticket checking, just swipe your ID card, and the ticket checker will give you a ticket to enter.
Entrance, run. Our plan was to get the FastPass for “Soaring Over the Horizon,” so we ran extra hard, like we were taking a 800-meter race. Adventure Isle is on the right side of the castle, it’s easy to find by looking at the direction of the crowd and the signposts. There are many people getting FastPasses, but the flow is fast. Adventure Isle offers FastPasses for “Soaring Over the Horizon” and “Jungle River Cruise.” We weren’t very interested in the “Jungle River Cruise,” so we directly got the FastPass for “Soaring Over the Horizon,” at this time the available time for the FastPass was 13:45-14:45.
First stop, Pirates of the Caribbean, second on my personal recommendation list. There weren’t many people going directly to Pirates of the Caribbean right after the park opened, and we were able to board the ship and enjoy the pirate adventure in less than half an hour.
Second stop, The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The waiting time was 75 minutes, but it actually took less than an hour. It’s a short, exciting roller coaster ride with dwarfs in a cave. The roller coaster itself isn’t very intense, and the cave display isn’t very intense either. I personally don’t like it very much, but this project is very popular, and it’s still okay to just play it once.
Third stop, Peter Pan’s Flight. This is probably the project we waited the longest for, two hours didn’t pass, and the second FastPass couldn’t be obtained yet, so we had to queue, about 90 minutes. It truly feels like experiencing the sky with Peter Pan.
Two hours have passed since we got our first FastPass, and we can now get a FastPass for another island. We chose “Tron Lightcycle Run,” and the available time was 17:15-18:15.
Fourth stop, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. The waiting time was okay, I personally like this one, sitting in a spaceship and shooting at monsters.
We planned to eat on the way from Tomorrowland to Adventure Isle, and happened to see a crowd waiting for the character parade, so we stood on the side of the road and waited for it to start. The music began, making people want to dance along. Classic anime characters walked by one by one, greeting and cheering with people. The parade takes place twice a day, at 12 pm and 3:30 pm.
Lunch time. Around 12 pm, the weather was a bit cloudy and about to rain. It was about an hour before “Soaring Over the Horizon,” so we took the opportunity to watch a Jack Sparrow show.
Fifth stop, “A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Sea.” The show was truly a pleasant surprise, the actors were very serious and their expressions and actions were very engaged. The scenery and special effects were also good. The cannons used dry ice for smoke, and the tornado used fans. The clown was very cute.
Sixth stop, “Soaring Over the Horizon,” first on my personal recommendation list. We went straight into the final waiting area with our FastPass, and waited about 15 minutes. I heard that the crowd outside waited for two to three hours. Sitting on the chair, we experienced a global journey through 3D visual effects, from cliffs to waterfalls, from glaciers to deserts, from the Great Wall to the Eiffel Tower, the scenery was beautiful and the experience was also beautiful.
Seventh stop, Winnie the Pooh and Friends. This was purely out of love for Winnie the Pooh, and the next FastPass time hadn’t arrived yet, so we had time to arrange ourselves, rest and relax.
Eighth stop, “Tron Lightcycle Run.” Ranked second on my personal recommendation list. The fastest game, no doubt. It’s very technologically advanced, sitting on a flying lightcycle and experiencing the speed of wind. If you’re scared, just close your eyes. A cowardly gamer’s secret.
Ninth stop, “Frozen Sing-Along.” There was still some time before the fireworks, and we were a bit tired, so we just sat down and rested at a nearby show. The actors sang well, which made me want to watch “Frozen” again after I got home.
Tenth stop, “Ignite the Dream: A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light.” It starts at 8:30 pm. We went to the front of the castle at 6 pm and there were already many people. We sat at the back of Mickey Avenue, the position in the middle was not bad, we sat on the ground. “Ignite the Dream,” one by one, the animations change, accompanied by fireworks, enjoying the visual feast of the moment, just look, the beauty can’t be captured even a fraction of it.
Eleventh stop, second time at Pirates of the Caribbean. After the fireworks at 9 pm, we ran to Pirates of the Caribbean, and it took about five minutes to board the ship, another pirate journey.
Twelfth stop, “Thunder Mountain Railroad.” With a try-it-out attitude, we went to wait for the “Thunder Mountain Railroad,” and we were actually able to get in line. The ride made me dizzy, and it wasn’t very steep, I’m glad we didn’t waste our FastPass on it.
After the fireworks show, you can choose two smaller projects or wait for the most popular large project, “Soaring Over the Horizon.” We left the park at 10 pm, a perfect day.
Tips: FastPass, you can get one per island, up to three times. You can get one every two hours.
The last subway back is at 10:30 pm. If you are sure to take the subway back, you must buy your return ticket before going to Disney, otherwise there will be a lot of people queuing up to buy tickets. We chose to take a taxi back, and we queued for taxis at exit D after leaving the park.
The biggest feeling is, don’t complain about the waiting, learn to enjoy the process of waiting, there will always be surprises waiting for you.
Hope the wishes made under the fireworks will come true.
