Daozhan Village Scenic Area is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Xiaowen Avenue and Xuanzang Road in Luoyang City, Henan Province. The scenic area is backed by Wan’an Mountain in the south and faces Yishui River in the north. The first-phase project that has been completed mainly includes imitation Qing Dynasty and Republic of China residential buildings, three food streets and commercial streets, with ancient villagers’ production, life and sacrificial activities scenes such as caves, opera houses, covered bridges, teahouses, temples, cattle sheds, threshing grounds, and ancient workshops.
Daozhan Village is a rural cultural tourism scenic spot developed and constructed by Yibin District in response to the beautiful countryside strategy and the rural revitalization strategy deployed by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, implementing the key arrangements of the Municipal Party Committee to develop gully area economy, and utilizing the resources of the rugged mountains and gullies at the foot of Wan’an Mountain in the south of Zhuge Town. By October 2017, the construction of the first-phase core area was basically completed, realizing trial operation and becoming a beautiful scenic spot in the Central Plains rural tourism industry.
In August 2018, the Political Research Office of the Luoyang Municipal Party Committee summarized its development and construction as the “Daozhan Phenomenon”. The project was included in the key projects of Luoyang Cultural Industry Transformation Action from 2018 to 2020, and was identified as a key construction project newly added in Henan Province in 2019. It has successively won honorary titles such as Henan Provincial Characteristic Leisure Farm for Rural Tourism, Henan Provincial Demonstration Base for Rural Tourism Entrepreneurship, 3A-level Rural Tourism Scenic Spot, Luoyang Municipal Civilization and Integrity Business Demonstration Market, and Luoyang Municipal Yibin Food Safety Demonstration Street.
