Self-driving trip in the dog days of summer
I always thought that Guangdong region was only good for manufacturing and business, with no beautiful scenery except for some tourist attractions. Recently I discovered this new continent in Conghua. First of all, it has abundant hot spring resources. I went to Bichian Hot Spring in Conghua Hot Spring Town a month ago and then to Shimen National Forest Park. I was amazed by both, especially Shimen which gave me the feeling of Changbai Mountain. A month later, I went to Conghua for the second time. This time, I have to thank Ctrip travel notes for choosing Xitou Village and Liuxi River National Forest Park. Xitou Village is known as the most beautiful village in Guangdong, with mature hiking trails. Liuxi River Forest Park is a piece of jade, a pool of clear water embedded in the mountains. With the 36-degree heat warning, the sun was scorching hot at noon, making my skin hurt. The high temperature shortened our playtime, so we could only go out when the sun was a little lower.
Three hours’ drive to the destination, it was already lunch time.

The first thing we saw when we arrived at the entrance of Xitou Village was the local produce, yellow skin, dragon fruit, three-hua plum, and various kinds of dried vegetables and fish.

The old man made bamboo crafts, which are all very cheap. I bought some to drink tea and plant flowers.
Trekking. The stream water is so clear and smooth, the pebbles are so beautiful. Who’s so romantic, they laid out a heart.
The water is still cool even with such hot weather.

At 11 pm, there was a power outage. The guests were all sweating. They came downstairs to wait for the power to come back. We waited and waited and waited, hoping that the power company would rush from afar. The power didn’t come back until almost 2 am. The night in the countryside is not only full of fireflies, but also toads, black spiders and mosquitoes flying close to you.
