1、Jiugukou Natural Scenic Area
Recommended reason: This is the largest outdoor camping area in Beijing. Jiugukou has nine valleys with breathtaking scenery and different styles, surrounded by strange peaks and flowing springs, and many unique birds live there. What’s even more unique is that there is a well-preserved Ming Dynasty Great Wall in Jiugukou, although it is not as majestic as it used to be, it still retains its grandeur. Nestled among mountains and by the water, surrounded by the Great Wall; sleeping under the stars and the moon, with hundreds of birds singing as a bell, it always feels like escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.
Self-driving route: Take the Jingshun or Airport Expressway to Huairou, head north to Yanqi Lake, and then 5 kilometers north.
2、Shisanling Reservoir

One or two hundred people plus the cars they bring are all here and it doesn’t feel crowded at all. Facing the dam, next to the water, it has a special charm. 4、Labagoumen Primitive Forest Park

5、Yunmong Mountain Natural Scenic Area
Recommended reason: The natural scenery along the way to Yunmong Mountain is primitive and beautiful, even more charming in spring. It is the closest national forest reserve to Beijing, famous for its danger, beauty, strangeness, and majesty. It is very suitable for outdoor fitness and camping activities. Known as the “Little Yellow Mountain”, Yunmong Mountain is located at the junction of Miyun County and Huairou District. 6、Xiangshui Lake Scenic Area
Recommended reason: Xiangshui Lake Scenic Area is located in Dazhenyu Village, Bohai Town, west of Mutianyu Great Wall in Huairou. It is a natural beautiful valley integrating the Great Wall, ancient caves, mountains, springs, and waterfalls. On both sides of the valley, the peaks rise and fall, the strange rocks are rugged, the Great Wall that has gone through thousands of years and still retains its ancient appearance, like a dragon flying, reaching straight to the sky, the majestic city and dangerous passes are quite spectacular.

7、Baihebao Reservoir
Recommended reason: Baihebao Reservoir is the third largest reservoir in Beijing and is the upper reaches of Beijing’s drinking water source. There is no need to worry about the water source when setting up a tent and camping there, and it is also “pure water” without pollution. On both sides of the reservoir, you can also see tall beacon towers and the stone remains of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. Self-driving route: Take the Jingchang Expressway, exit at Changping West Gate, go straight towards Shisanling, turn left at Changling Road intersection (Yongning direction) – Yanqing Yongning – Liubinbao – turn left at the Sihuamu National Geopark intersection (Liugan Road) – cross the bridge, there is a signpost pointing left to Yanshan Tianchi, turn left to Baihebao Reservoir.
8、Huangsongyu Reservoir
Recommended reason: It can’t be called an “enthusiast level” camping site, but it is indeed a place unknown to most tourists. In summer, the mulberry trees by the reservoir are ripe and no one eats them, in autumn the ripe hawthorn falls all over the ground, forming red carpets, and the spring water that emerges from the spring reaches drinking water standards as soon as it comes out.
