In this era of rapid internet development, email, mobile ordering, and courier delivery have become convenient ways of life, making us realize that the post office is becoming increasingly distant. Nowadays, post offices have become a new type of check-in destination. What are some post offices in Shanghai suitable for checking in?

1. Navigation Post Office

Address: 150 Huoshan Road, Hongkou District

The Navigation Post Office is easy to find, with its bright navy blue mailbox at the entrance as its mark! The Navigation Post Office is the first post office in China to be themed around navigation. Because July 11th is China’s National Navigation Day, the Navigation Post Office has its own exclusive postal code: 200711.

Once you step inside, you will immediately forget you are in a post office. Here, there are no familiar mailing counters, but rather many cultural and creative products related to navigation and postal services, from thermos cups shaped like mailboxes to cute pen holders and postal trucks, making it hard not to be tempted.

But as a post office, the highlight here is still the postmarks and postcards. The Navigation Post Office has so many postmarks that you can’t possibly stamp them all without a large notebook.

There are dozens of stamps here, in addition to the ones displayed on the table, there are many more stamps in the six boxes on both sides that can be used freely, and they are all unique to this place.

The Navigation Post Office’s stamps are divided into series such as the 24 Solar Terms Series, Shanghai Shipping Culture Landmark Series, Constellation Fantasy Series, etc., and new stamps are regularly released. It’s no exaggeration to say that this is a paradise for stamp collectors in Shanghai.

The postcards here are also diverse, from playful and cute ones to ones with Shanghai characteristics and post office exclusive ones, there is something for everyone. The seemingly old post office is not lagging behind in keeping up with the times.

But the most special thing is the banknote version postcard, just like banknotes, the patterns on the postcard can only be seen clearly under an ultraviolet light. This postcard is only sold at the Navigation Post Office, and those who cannot come in person can purchase it on their WeChat public account.

The Navigation Post Office has also made all the stamps they have released into commemorative cards, about half the size of a postcard, each with a colored stamp group and the corresponding prototype, which is also a good choice for collection.

Entering the post office surrounded by greenery, the retro wooden interior design takes you back to the time when Wukang Mansion was first built. In addition to normal postal services, there are also Wukang Mansion cookies, ice cream, badges, and postcards for sale, and of course, don’t forget to get a Wukang Mansion postmark.

The Wukang Mansion Theme Post Office is also the first post office in Shanghai to sell coffee, and they have invited a long-established Shanghai brand – Qiao Coffee, under Qiaojiazhai.
