1. Shi Tou Shan

Shi Tou Shan is 305.1 meters above sea level, about 2 kilometers east of Chang Ming Shui Village. The mountain faces the Chang Jiang Reservoir with a cliff on one side. It is one of the best places to overlook the entire Chang Jiang Reservoir in Wu Gui Mountain, and also a great place to watch the sunrise in Zhongshan.

The entire route is about 8km with a total climb of 1022m. The hiking time is about 5-6 hours. The route includes bamboo forests, tree forests, and mountain ridges. There are several steep ascents and descents, and many forks along the way. There are no restrooms or supplies along the way. The overall hiking difficulty is high, suitable for “old drivers” who like hiking!

2. Xi Jiang Hua Zhou Park

Xi Jiang Hua Zhou Park has a 3.7km beautiful countryside demonstration zone along Xi Jiang River. It is the only one in Guangdong province selected as a high-quality scenic spot for the Chinese Beautiful Countryside Leisure Tourism Line (Spring) in 2022 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

It is the season for bougainvillea to bloom. The bougainvillea sea in Xi Jiang Hua Zhou Park is in full bloom. Red flowers and green leaves are quite spectacular. Rather than staying in air-conditioned rooms during summer, it is better to wander around the flower sea.

3. Qi Ao Ancient Trail

Qi Ao Ancient Trail, a treasure hiking route that has ancient trails, forests, streams, bamboo forests, all in one, to meet your needs for hiking and camping, and it is not hot. Qi Ao Ancient Trail was built in 1860, spanning three places, Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Macau, and also known as “The Tea and Horse Road in Modern Xiangshan” and “The Silk Road of Zhongshan”. The whole trail is about 12km with an altitude of about 300 meters and a total climb of 800 meters.

The overall hiking difficulty is moderate, suitable for beginner hikers!

4. Jin Zhong Lake

Jin Zhong Lake Park covers an area of over 900 acres, with a greenway of over 12 kilometers around the Jin Zhong Reservoir. There are countless scenic spots along the way. It is affectionately called “Natural Oxygen Bar” by the people of Zhongshan. With mountains and rivers, beautiful scenery, it is a preferred destination for many people in Zhongshan to calm down and cultivate their minds.

Surrounded by mountains, the two natural lakes in Gu Xiang Lin Park have clear water and gurgling water. When you stroll around in the mist, you will feel like you are in a fairyland.

The tea garden on the side of Jin Zhong Greenway is also a good place to enjoy the view from above. In the middle of the tea garden on the hillside, there is a beautiful kapok tree. During the flowering season from October to mid-December every year, the whole tree is pink. Together with the other kapok trees scattered in the garden, it is surrounded by green leaves and becomes more beautiful.

5. Zhong Shun Da Wei

Xi Jiang is one of the four major water systems in Guangdong. It passes through the Xi Jiang embankment in Ban Fu. It is about half an hour’s drive from downtown Zhongshan. The long coastline has attracted countless sports enthusiasts to check in.
