Recently, many people have asked which section of the East Lake Greenways is the most fun. This shows you already have some understanding of the East Lake Greenways, haha. This is actually a very good question. Below, I will give you a simple analysis. In fact, each section of the Greenways has its own unique features. If you have time, I recommend playing in all of them. If you don’t have enough time, I will give you a brief analysis below.
The East Lake Greenways are divided into 7 sections, each with different scenery and attractions. So it’s too subjective to say which one is the most fun. The 7 sections are Moshan Road, Forest Road, Husan Road, Huxin Road, Baima Road, Tingtao Road, and Jiayedao. Below, I will briefly go over the characteristics of each section.
1. Moshan Road – Most popular
Moshando is actually the most popular because it’s convenient to get there, easy to park, and has places to play. The Eye of East Lake is on Moshan Road, and there’s a Happy Forest for children, as well as some Chu Wangtai, plum gardens, pear gardens, places to climb, and many near-water platforms. So it’s very popular. I recommend you go there.
2. Forest Road – Most mountain trails
Forest Road is centered around the Forest Park. The road is relatively long and has many branches, so it’s tiring to walk. The left side is still ok, but the right side has few people playing. But you can watch pigeons, barbecue, watch monkeys, and walk back to some small and fresh homestays. They are all very good places to play. There are also flowers to see, so it’s worth a visit.
3. Husan Road – Best overall
Husan Road is also very popular. Students from Wuhan University like to walk along this road. Then you can see the lake, go to Meiyuan, and go to Moshan, all of which are convenient. The main point is to see the lake. There is also Tuan Shan Road, which is suitable for cycling. It’s also recommended.
4. Huxin Road – Best for lake viewing
Huxin Road is actually just for lake viewing. It’s so interesting to see the lake from the heart of East Lake, haha. Although it’s a must-see, many people love it.
5. Baima Road – Children’s favorite
Baima Road is suitable for bringing children. There are many bridges, and if you go towards Liyuan Square, there are places for children to play in the middle, and it’s always full of people on weekends, so it’s really great. This road is relatively quiet, and there is a large piece of grass, making it suitable for camping. People who like quiet places will enjoy it.
6. Tingtao Road – Best for families
Tingtao Road is a relatively simple road, also suitable for bringing children. You can start at the Provincial Museum, then go to Liyuan Square, then to the Ocean World. Of course, you should not miss places like Xingyin Pavilion. They are all worth visiting.
7. Jiayedao – Professional choice
Jiayedao is more advanced. There are places to play along the way, such as the farms, Luoyan Island, and the Binhu Wetland. They are all worth visiting. The road is very, very long, so only enthusiasts go there.
So, which section is the most fun? I can’t really give you an answer. I like to ride around East Lake for a day and a night, haha, meaning the whole East Lake. That’s what I call fun. But most people don’t have that time, so Moshan Road, Husan Road, and Forest Road are all worth recommending.
