The Bibbulmun Track is one of the best long-distance trails in the world. Explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell entered the unknown Australian jungle on October 3, 1824. Their great adventure was the first to cross the jungle of southeastern Australia.
Over a period of 16 weeks, they hiked over 1,900 kilometers and discovered some of the most fertile agricultural land in Oceania. The Hume and Hovell Walking Track was created to commemorate this great adventure. This 440-kilometer trail only retraces part of this route in New South Wales, from Yass to Albury, but is still very spectacular. There are 17 campsites along the trail, and some places can be reached by shortcuts to towns that provide accommodation.
